Features
Everything a tournament pool needs. Nothing a casino does.
Win, Place and Show pools; club credits on an audit ledger; results from Golf Genius; one-tap settlement; texts and email; a board for the TV. Jump to a section:
Pools
True pari-mutuel, the way the racetrack does it.
The net pool is divided among winning tickets in proportion to stake. Odds are set by the members. The engine is pure arithmetic — exact rationals, integer micro-credits, no floating point.
Win, Place and Show
Three pools per event. Paying positions are configurable for small fields, so a 10-team shootout can pay two places instead of three.
Templates
"Daily Win/Place/Show", "Overall Win/Place/Show", "Across the board per round". One click generates every pool on every round.
Live pays-per-credit and odds
"$2.40 per credit", "1.4 to 1" — refreshed live on every phone and the TV board within two seconds of a ticket issuing.
Takeout the club keeps
Zero to thirty percent, set per pool, shown before members bet, posted to the club's takeout account at settlement.
Market stats
Favourite, long shot, money mover, popular pick and value pick, with sparklines of how each team's odds moved while the pool was open.
Open, close, extend
Pools default to closing ten minutes before the first tee time. Open, close or extend manually; members with open slips are notified.
Credits and the ledger
Money never enters. Every credit is accounted for.
Credits are minted by your staff when a member pays and burned when they're paid out. Everything in between is an immutable double-entry ledger — balances are derived, never stored.
Credit desk
Search a member, enter credits received and how they paid — cash, Venmo, member account — post. The member gets a confirmation with their balance.
Pay at the table or prepaid
Per tournament: members must prepay; or bet first and pay at the table using a four-letter code; or either. Covered slips issue instantly.
Issuance queue
Pending slips grouped by member with requested total versus balance. Issue all or selected lines in one transaction — two staff can't double-issue.
Append-only, hash-chained ledger
Every journal sums to zero. Wallets can't go negative. Nothing is ever deleted — reversals post mirror entries members can see.
Adjustments and voids with reasons
Void before close returns the stake. After close, only an Org Admin can void, and it's flagged in the audit log. Every adjustment needs a reason.
Cash-out and reconciliation
A cash-out desk per member and a close-of-tournament report that balances credits issued against wagers, refunds, payouts, takeout, breakage and unpaid balances.
Results and settlement
Golf Genius scores the golf. ParMutuel settles the pool.
Results flow in from the Golf Genius API, a CSV upload or manual entry, land as a draft, and are settled only after an admin confirms them.
Golf Genius API
Link an event, import the roster and rounds, pick which scoring tournament drives each pool, and pull finishing orders with ties and team composition.
CSV and manual fallback
A tolerant parser accepts Golf Genius leaderboard exports; a drag-to-order list with a tie toggle works one-handed for side games on the course.
Nothing settles automatically
You review mapped entrants, ties and unmatched rows, then see a per-pool preview — handle, takeout, net, per-credit payout, breakage — before you commit.
Dead heats, scratches, no-winner
Ties split position shares; scratched teams are refunded and excluded from the handle; a pool nobody wins is refunded or carried over, your choice.
Idempotent and reversible
Settlement is keyed to a result version. A corrected result reverses the prior payouts and re-posts, with a diff report and re-notification.
Change detection
If Golf Genius later shows a different result than the one you confirmed, you get an alert — never a silent re-settlement.
Communications
SMS and email for the whole lifecycle.
Invite, credit posted, ticket issued, pools closing, results, cash-out ready. Every message is queued in an outbox, so a provider hiccup delays it rather than losing it.
Two-way texting
Members reply BAL for balances and TIX for open tickets. STOP and START are honored automatically. Anything else lands in the admin inbox.
Email that matches the app
Verified sending domain, per-club reply-to, templates shared with the app, and delivery status visible to admins.
Broadcasts and segments
Everyone, one tournament, or a segment — has pending requests, has an open balance, hasn't bet yet — with templates and merge fields.
Quiet hours and reminders
Pools-closing reminders at 15 and 5 minutes. Quiet hours per club apply to non-mandatory messages only.
Compliance built in
Consent captured at signup, 10DLC-registered sending, STOP handling and opt-out language per TCPA/CTIA, physical address and unsubscribe on marketing email.
Tickets with QR codes
Every ticket carries a number, QR code and timestamp. Failed texts fall back to email and vice versa for mandatory messages.
Member and admin experience
One app, three modes: member, admin, TV.
A phone-first installable web app. Admin mode is the same app on a phone or iPad; the TV board is a public URL per tournament.
No app store
Members open a link, sign in with a code, and add it to their home screen if they want. iOS Safari and Android Chrome, one-handed, 44px targets.
Works on a weak signal
Server-rendered for fast first paint on 4G. The shell and your tickets are cached offline; a slip queued offline submits only if the pool is still open.
Clubhouse TV board
A no-login odds board per tournament, plus the live elimination board during a horse race. Refreshes itself every few seconds.
Passwordless sign-in
Six-digit SMS code or email magic link, 30-day sessions on the member's device, optional step-up code for large wagers.
Admin dashboards
Handle by pool over time, participation rate, credits issued versus wagered, top entrants by handle, outstanding balances.
Audit log viewer
Filter by actor, object, action and time; export it. Admin actions carry actor, IP, reason and before/after state.
Security and multi-tenancy
Built to the standard of a financial ledger.
ParMutuel never touches money, but it holds the authoritative record of who is owed what. So it's built like it does.
Isolated clubs
Row-level security on every table and every realtime channel, keyed to your club. Tested so a member of club A sees zero rows of club B.
Least privilege
Role checks live in the database functions, not just the UI. Staff can't settle; support can't post ledger entries. Impersonation is time-boxed and banner-visible.
Backups and recovery
Point-in-time recovery, a nightly logical dump to a separate bucket, quarterly restore drills. Ledger and audit retained seven years by default.
Secrets stay secret
Your Golf Genius key is stored encrypted in a vault and decrypted only inside the sync worker — never in the browser.
Privacy
CCPA/CPRA-ready export and deletion per member. Members can download their own ledger and tickets any time.
Tested where it costs money
Property-based tests on the settlement engine: payouts never exceed the net pool, every credit lands in payouts or breakage. Database tests on isolation and the ledger.
And the side games.
Horse races with a live elimination board, closest to the pin, flights, skins and match-play brackets — each on its own credit pool, settled by the same engine.
See it on your own tournament.
Thirty minutes with your tournament chair or pro shop. We'll load a sample field and run a live pool together.
